How to create a SAT -MANUAL MEMORY- PLAN to store new satellite transponder directly to the instrument via the keyboard (for old instruments out of SW support)

PROCEDURE valid for all ROVER models with double DISPLAY: GRAPHIC MONOCHROME and TFT.

For example: Series ST-4, DM16-C, PD-32 Series EXAMINER, DM16-Q, DM16-4HD, PD-42, PD42-4HD, ATOM HD.

Using, the instrument keypad can be created directly in the meter, the MANUAL MEMORY PLAN, for example MANU 1, MANU 2, etc., containing the satellite transponder of interest to you.

IMPORTANT: Find updated lists of all the satellite transponder directly on the site "www.lyngsat.com" to create your manuals Memory plans (see example in Figure 1).

PREREQUISITES: To create a manual memory, you must know all the details of the satellite transponder to store (DVB-S or DVB-S-2): Frequency, Polarity (V = H = vertical or horizontal), Band (L = low and H = high) and Symbol Rate. Make sure the diameter parabolic antenna used is compatible with the satellite you need to receive. In the figure below, is an example of data for a satellite transponder (frequency, polarity and symbol rate) reported in the website “www.lyngsat.com“.

NOTES for EUROPE: (for U.S. & ASIA select the data)::

- Low Band and High Band: The transponder with frequency from 10.700 to 11.700 MHz are in the Low Band (Low = L), the transponder with frequency from 11.700 to 12.750 MHz are in the high Band (High = H)..

- Local Oscillator Frequency (L.O.): The Local Oscillator frequency to be set in the instrument (refer to a Universal LNB) are 9.750 MHz for low (L) band transponders  and 10.600 MHz for high (H) band transponders.

PROCEDURE:

  1. Turn on the instrument,
  2. Make sure you have selected your language,
  3. Press the "PLAN" key,
  4. Rotate the encoder wheel on the SATELLITE",
  5. Press encoder (the list of stored satellites blinking),
  6. Rotate the encoder and shows, for example, the satellite "HBIR13",
  7. Press the "MEAS" key to switch to the measures,
  8. Rotate the encoder and select a DIGITAL transponder.
    IMPORTANE: The second line of the graphic display shall include the words "SAT QPSK DVB-S" or "SAT DIGITALE DVBS o S2" (S2 only in the newer models),
  9. Press "MEMORY" or "MANUMEMORY" key (depending on the model of the instrument used),
  10. Rotate the encoder wheel and highlights the word "HBIR13" (top left corner of the graphic display),
  11. Press encoder (the word HBIR13 flashes),
  12. Rotate the encoder wheel and select a plan of manual memory of your choice: for example, if free "MANU 1",
  13. Press the encoder to confirm,
  14. Rotate the encoder and shows the inscription "L.O. xxxxx" (Local Oscillator),
  15. Press encoder (the word L.O. xxxxx flashes),
  16. Rotate the encoder wheel and sets the value of Local Oscillator wantet, or keep press for 2 "encoder and directly enter the Local Oscillator value using the numeric keypad (eg for EUROPE 9750/10600 or other values ​​for U.S. & ASIA .) If necessary, rotate the encoder to move between the numbers,
    NOTE: For UNIVERSAL LNB set to 9750 MHz for transponders (VL and HL) in LOW BAND and 10600 MHz for the transponder (VH and HH) in HIGH BAND,
  17. Press the encoder to confirm,
  18. Rotate the encoder wheel and select the word "SRxx.xxx" (Symbol Rate),
  19. Press encoder (the word SRxx.xxx flashes),
  20. Rotate the encoder wheel and sets the value of symbol rate you want, or keep press for 2 "encoder and enter directly the value of Symbol Rate option with the numeric keypad (eg 22000-27500-29000 Ms / s etc.). If necessary, rotate the encoder to switch between numbers,
  21. Press the encoder to confirm,
  22. Rotate the encoder wheel and highlights the word "Fxx.xxx" (Frequency MHz),
  23. Press encoder (the word Fxx.xxx flashes),
  24. Rotate the encoder wheel and set the desired frequency, or press and hold 2 "encoder and directly enter the frequency value using the numeric keypad (eg, 10992-11373 MHz, etc..) If necessary, rotate the encoder to move between the numbers,
  25. Press the encoder to confirm,
  26. Rotate the encoder wheel and select the word "LNB=xx-xx" (LNB power),
  27. Press encoder (the word LNB = xx-xx flashing),
  28. Rotate the encoder wheel and sets Band and Polarization and its value LNB supply: VL-VH-HL-HH:
    LNB=Vertical Low VL,
    LNB
    =Horizontal Low HL,
    LNB=
    Vertical High VH,
    LNB=
    Horizonltal High HH,
  29. Press the encoder to confirm,
  30. Rotate the encoder wheel and select the word "DiSEqC= x" (DiSEqC tone) (only for DiSEqC devices),
  31. Press encoder (the word DiSEqC = x flashes),
  32. Rotate the encoder wheel and sets, IF NECESSARY, the value of the desired DiSEqC tone: "A"-"B"-"C"-"D" (A=4 cables; B=8 cables, C=12 cables, D=16 cables),
  33. Press the encoder to confirm,
  34. Rotate the encoder wheel and select the message "SAVE?",
  35. Press the encoder to confirm.

The message "SAVED" indicates that the satellite transponder (PR 1 in our example) has been correctly saved in the MANUAL MEMORY selected (in our example MANU 1).
Subsequently, the instrument shows the "PR 2" and adjusts itself to store additional transponders within the same MANUAL MEMORY PLAN (MANU 1 in our example).
If you want to add additional transponder (and as PR 2, PR 3, PR 4, etc.) in the same MEMORY MANUAL continue as indicated from step 14.

At the end press the "MEAS" to make measurements or "SPECT" to display the spectrum of the received satellite signal, rotate the encoder wheel to navigate through the stored transponder (eg PR 1, PR 2, PR 3, etc. in the various MANUMEMORY ).

To recall after the plan MANUAL MEMORY achieved (in our example the MANU 1) press the "PLAN" key, rotate the encoder wheel on the "MANUAL MEMORY", press the encoder, totate the encoder wheel on  the "MANU 1 ".
